The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs recently awarded a $21,250 Community Cultural Grant to Iowa Shakespeare Experience of Des Moines. The Iowa Shakespeare Experience will use ICCG funding to support 33 artistic positions for the rehearsal phase of Iowa Shakesperience Festival 2011- Romeo and Juliet.
In addition, Culture Incorporated of Des Moines received $21,080 to expand the program manager and the development associate positions to execute its sustainability initiative. And Fort Des Moines Black Officers Memorial, Inc. will get $14,321 to hire an education assistant to work with existing staff to provide programming about the Women’s Army Corps at Fort Des Moines.
